Salicylic acid is a known plant growth regulator.
Which plants have high concentration of salicylic acid.
Pls suggest method of estimation also.
Willows (Salix spp.) are supposed to be high in salicylic acid but I am not sure of the concentration.
Rice, crabgrass, green foxtail, barley, and soybean had SA levels in excess of 1 /J-g g-l fresh weight. The highest levels of SA were recorded in the inflorescences of thermogenic plants and in plants infected with necrotizing pathogens.

It is important to remember that SA is induced under pathogen attack
Sir is it specific towards pathogen attack of in response to any kind of stress. .
SA is level might be induced during any biotic or abiotic stress. There is also very big discussion regarding SA role in plants as "LIFE OR DEATH SWITCH". As SA induces the accumulation of H2O2 in the plants and vice versa. SA also provides SAR to the plants.
