I want to ask, can anybody tell me the website/link for finding out the daily data on inflation rate and unemployment rate in India. Please share your knowledge and experience. I will be very thankful to you.
Hi Sonali. These indicators basically measured in monthly, quarterly or annual but not daily. So I think you can not find a data as daily format from offical statistics.
Yes exactly. I find data on monthly, quarterly basis on different websites. But in my base paper, all the data was taken on daily basis. As per that paper, they have extracted data from Yahoo finance and investing.com. But I am unable to find daily date there also.
Those sources did not have data, because no one collects such data. Instead, they must have interpolated from the monthly averages. Maybe a straight-line interpolation. Maybe they assumed inflation tracked the stock market closing price. At best, maybe they ran a regression showing, eg the monthly unemployment rate and inflation rate correlated with the stock market closing price or daily temperature or something and used that to justify their interpolation. One final possibility; they data-mined daily credit card sales or something and used that to interpolate.
