The method should measure the resistance or shear force from grass roots in grassland, meadows or pastures swards (turf, lawn, greensward, sod) how stable is the sward against heavy erosion forces, kicking or treading of heavy machinery drop-down or intensive grazing. I would be glad to solve the problem, what are the most resistant grasses against different crush or erosion forces.

I i recall correctly, there was PhD project in Prof Alastair Fitter's lab at the University of York in the late 1990's looking at exactly this. You might be able to access the PhD thesis via the York website - i don't think if the work was ever published as the student left science.
