I have recently completed a doctoral study about business ethics in the sharing economy. At the moment I am considering what to do next. That is why I am thinking of perhaps starting/forming a collaboration for writing an academic book about business ethics as it relates to blockchain. I am not an academic but rather a retired business person.
What do you think? Are you interested? Any recommendations?

In the case of complex supply chain interdependencies, block chain technology contributes to the fact that quality control of the preliminary products can lead to greater uncertainties. The greater anonymity may tempt pre-producers to deliver poorer product qualities, which could be the result of moral risk behavior that actually conflicts with ethical corporate objectives. In order to maintain consumer trust, traceability is then necessary, which is very time-consuming and could negatively influence or even overcompensate the actual advantage of blockchain technology. The producer who is close to the end consumer would then have to oblige his upstream suppliers to comply with ethical company rules, which in practice should be anything but easy.
Good day @maceabdullah. Yes good question. The way I see it is the huge impact of blockchain on the way we will be doing business in future. So the basic emphasis must be on blockchain specifically. However, the purpose of raising this question here is to get feedback from the community. Nothing is cast in stone!

Many of the economic activities taking place in the fintech, BC and metaverse sectors seem to suffer from ethically questionable influences, which modern political economy classifies as risky behavior, which can become problematic; this becomes evident in the case of fraud and other criminal offences. Wirecard and now FTX are just the most prominent examples. Apparently, particularly future-oriented fall for new pyramid schemes. And Twitter proves that the normal ethical rules of the game in society are not the best. The more anonymous interpersonal processes are, the more difficult it becomes to ensure ethical standards in business and society. Because anonymity means a lack of information, which is also the main cause of market failure. As is well known, neoclassical market equilibria only exist if perfect information is also given under numerous other conditions! Massive state regulations are therefore required to prevent undesirable social and economic developments.
@hansgeorgpetersen thank you for the detailed explanation. Yes, that is why I am interested in the future implications of blockchain for business ethics. In my recent research I questioned whether business ethics should become law. As it stands business ethics is a self-regulatory endeauvour today. And it is not working as demonstrated by ongoing unethical behaviour. With the decentralisation of power (which is a good thing) the challenge to adhere to ethical practices becomes more problematic. Maybe we could have a chat some time.
