EARSAC project manages three demo sites (Majorca Island) for irrigation and aquifer recharge with reclaimed water, from irrigation ponds connected to waste water treatment plants. We are searching studies regarding the evolution of nutrients, specially nitrates along the year and changes of concentration with depth for Mediterranean climate conditions. Also the influence of floating blooms structures to minimize nutrients by direct consumption and the best depth to collect the water for irrigation and MAR along the year. Any hint would be truly appreciated. thank you!!

let me know about the depth of your pond system. Variation of NO3-/NO2- along vertical profile may change with oxic condition. Also what about the strength of input of NO3- to the your water body. I have attached a article about the NO3- variation along the flood lakes (along the horizontal).

Good morning. Thanks so much Mr. Piyal for this contribution. Our test ponds are ranged 3-4 m depth. At the end of the summer time there are anoxic conditions in the deepest, which comes up with the termical inversion, increasing turbitivity and the total of dissolved carbon. By may there appear precipitation crusts of calcite in the borders. The evolution of nitrates trend is being studied, but by the moment we do not dispose of datasets enought to find out the trend evolution.
