Hello, I am looking for studies researching the criterion-validity of maximal stair mill tests / stair mill ergometry for estimating VO2max.
I only found a study by Tierney et al. (2010) that is reporting correlation coefficents and am curios if there is more research in that regard.

Thanks, but none of your references includes stair mill testing, I just checked. There is lots of research for other testing methods, but I am looking for studies specificially researching the validity of maximal Stair mill testing.

The gold standard test for VO2max is maximal test using gas analyser. Every other test may need to be compared with maximal test using gas analyser for it's validity. Maximal stair Mill test has been proven to be reliable for measuring VO2max, but there is scarcity of studies to confirm the accuracy of Maximal stair Mill test by comparing it with maximal test using gas analyser. This create a knowledge gap that researchers should explore.
It is obvious that there is paucity of empirical studies in the area, so this is a call for action. Research should be designed to fill this knowledge gap
