I support Tamayo's proposal that a dialkyl phthalate plasticizer is contained. It is most likely a mixture of plasticizer and fatty acid or its derivative (such a minor fraction is occasionally obtained from plant extracts!).

If you are still in doubt, whether your isolate is Arjunic acid or not. Please go through TLC analysis along with standard and go for overlain spectra of your isolate alongwith standard Arjunic acid. The standard marker of Arjunic acid may be vailable in Natural Remedies Banglore.

Please avaoid to go for all spectral data, if you are working with known compound, always try to find out such compound alongwith refernce standard.

It is good for you to present the data in a Table form first and match the expected reference.

Can you send the 13C NMR and 13C-Dept? the issue is the 2 protons @ 7ppm

for accurate and more confident predictions required chromatogram/TLC, D2O exchange 1H NMR and 13C NMR required.

Upon going fast on the 1H-NMR data and MS, it seems what you have is a plasticizer....
