Dear colleagues,
I made photo of this stick insects in a sandy beech of North Borneo at National Park Similajaui. I'm trying not to catch arthropods preferring photos, and I have no PDF of identification key in this group on Borneo (no in open access - Please, attach if possible). It was not far from the shore vegetation and with body length not more than 10 cm.

Interesting Andrey! This insect seems to be from the order Mantodea and probably from the family Mantidae or some stick insect from the order Phasmatodea. But I am not sure about this, we need to investigate further as there are many families and species in both orders. I am also interested in knowing exactly which insect this is when it is confirmed. Yes, Rudolf and Pwaveno, I'm not a specialist but have some large specimens in my collection from Phasmatodea. It looks like.

Sure, Albert, but should have Bragg. It cost minimum 150 USD (if used), therefore i'm asking help. Short guide for New Guinea that I have is'nt enough..., but helped me to exclude Sipyloidea and Parasipyloidea. As well Antennae looked well-developed, so may be mature.
Hermagoras genera representatives I saw have different outgrows. Is'nt so?

It is an adult male of the tribe Lonchodini. It may be Lonchodes, Mnesilochus or Hermagoras, I cannot say more : ask Frank Hennemann, he should know.

THERE ARE A RECENT AND EXCELENT BOOK ABOUT PHASMIDA FROM BORNEO, BUT IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
Hi! Andrey....Great effort! I can just identify this insect as a stick insect.....nothing more taxonomically! If there are many such insects, you could collect one and preserve it to get its genus and family identified by an insect taxonomist who would definitely need a specimen to closely study the identifying features.....a pic won't suffice. You were completely wright as Frank identified it like male of Lonchodes jejunus (Brunner v. Wattenwyl, 1907).
