I am palynologist and is very difficult to identify pollen grains in electronic microscopy, I need photographs in optical microscopy, it is much easier
It is not easy to identify pollen grains from the SEM even for me as I'm used to see them at the light micrscope The pollen seems to be tricolporate with long colpi, doesn't it? I suppose it could be a pollen of Cistus - type. Cistus is very frequent in the mediterranean area and bees use it as pollen source.
I additionally prepared the photos of this pollen using a high level light microscope (Olympus BX51 with a DIC-contrast) and have determined that this is pollen of Cistus .
