@Dr. Andrew All I wanted to know was whether they are different or share same progentiors?
For example: the cells that form tumor lose their identity and their cell cycle is not regulated as some genes which regulate the process are mutated/ disfunctional.
But callus is something which forms after giving hormonal combinations (controlled by hormones auxin and cytokinin). The cell cycle is still regulated. It is not uncontrolled. Once you change the combination of hormones the cells either form shoots or roots.
