Caustic treatment is not a good process to make polyester fabric hydrophilic as it reduce strength. You can try moisture management finish or silicone softener or apply Lipage enzyme if available.

Try plasma treatment  on polyester fabric.  We have done some work on recycled polyester fabric for work wear and the results showed it was suitable for work wear.

I have made some semi bulk trial with Caustic on 100% polyester  woven fabric  found title improvement & now  i have decided to perform it with Cutanises or Lipases enzymes .

concerning to industrial situation Plasma quite difficult to use & but thanks for your paper i will try to study plasma more for textile industrial application .

Hi Rehman, you can use corona discharge treatment to introduce hydroxyl and carboxyl groups on the surface of polyester fibre. But if you want to make the surface of polyester hydrophilic by a chemical treatment, then can treat the fabric with Ultraphil DCW (Huntsman Chemicals). 

Would like to know where you purchase enzymes for treating textiles.  I require ligninase enzyme for treating natural fibers and lipases for polyester.
