I am working on Chlamydomonas reinhardtii strain. I want to compare lipid amount of two samples of them (control and test). I guess that my test sample will have less amount ( Unrecognizable; because probably the difference of amount is very low) of lipid compare than control. but my problem is that my test samples are very little (maybe less than 1 ml). and I don't know that which one of lipid analysis method is very suitable for this volume and can recognize very little difference of lipid amount between control and test. please guide me if you have any suggestion.

Dry Folch et al. method using Chloroform and Methanol at the ratio of 1:2. This would be helpful in your case. What would be an ideal lipid level in that sample approximately....?
