I have an EFI engine 1000cc showing a problem of random temperature reading in the instrument cluster even if the engine is not overheated however the engine only having 1 coolant temperature sensor and there is no temperature sending unit which is responsible for sending data to the instrument cluster?

Assuming you are not really familiar with automotive electronics:
- The coolant sensor is most likely a device with only 2 contacts - totally passive.
- If you follow the wires, you will find that they lead to some electronic unit. This is, where the sensor is read and evaluated. And this unit has some connection to the instrument cluster (LIN, CAN, whatever) to transmit the temperature value in some digital format.
If your temperature sensor has more than 2 contacts, there might be electronics included. In this case, the sensor itself transmits the temperature via some communications link.
