63rd World Congress of Dance Research

CID congresses are the oldest largest gatherings of dance specialists, the best opportunity to showcase research work to a wide audience of practitioners. Approximately 300 professionals from 30 countries of the 5 continents attend each year; over 60,000 visit its website.

All forms of dance are represented.

Papers accepted also from absentee conferees.

This is an official event under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the National UNESCO Commission, the Region of Athens and the City of Athens.

Scientific Committee composed of university professors from 7 countries.

Publication. Full proceedings published at the Congress website viewed by tens of thousands of visitors.

Languages. Working language is English; other languages can be used too.

Texts: Full texts must be submitted prior to the congress - they can include pictures, music or video.

Format: See Technical Specifications in the website. Send also a printed copy or a DVD if you wish.

Deadline: Send abstract prior to registration. Send full text at least one month before the opening day in order to be included in the program and the proceedings website.

Structure of texts: Divide your text into sections, each with a numbered heading. Start with your name, the title of the presentation, an outline, then sections of your development of the theme. Conclude with a presentation of the author in the same text.

Content: A research report (or research paper) contains unpublished results of an original research project. It provides an objective and substantiated picture. It can treat the situation of dance in a country or a region. It can cover a particular form of dance (ballet, contemporary, ballroom, traditional etc.) or a sector (education, performance, scholarship, therapy etc.) at national or regional level. The focus is on giving facts or estimates, tendencies and needs. It is addressed to professionals rather than the general reader.
