The result of clinical studies suggested that statins appear to decrease the rate of reduction of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and slow the progression of pathologic proteinuria moderately.
Because I am not aware (yet) of any literature explaining the mechanism of diminishing protein excretion as well as a positive impact on GFR evolution in CKD and I would like to get know the mechanism- ist it through reduction of inflammation?
Thanks, the paper points a bit on mechanism by which statins improve renal function not only just an overview of the results of the clinical studies. Cheers, M
