We are building a small prototype of biomass generator. Does anyone have suggestions for lab testing heat exchanger for gas-gas? We will have a combustor that will reach temperatures of around 1000C.
We prefer to buy a ready made cheap shell and tube heat exchanger that will withstand the temperatures. We want to order or buy one.
As you've not stated how large your biomass unit is, then your choices are limited and you will not get a small heat exchanger to handle 1000C gases. Your best bet is to immediately spray water into the gases to drop the temperature to say 500C and then get a stainless steel heat exchanger to deal with the duty.
