We would like to demostrate if the therapy of binaural sounds can modulate the percepetion of chronic pain. We evaluate this perception by meausuring biosignals (EEG, EDA, Heart Rate, etc.)

A main research about sounds music and pain has been done in Montpellier university published in Pain.
The process is « music care » perhaps the way they evaluate can give you some informations .
It has nothing to do with music. It is to do with disruption of reconsolidation of conditioned behaviour of the nervous system. And sufficient sensory stimulation, applied precisely to the reconsolidation phase of a relevant conditioned response, will weaken or extinguish the response.
There is nothing magical about music. In order to successfully achieve disription, you must first identfy a specific trigger, and then apply a sensory stimulus or stimuli which is at least as intense as the unwanted trigger.

Mi idea es usar sonidos binaurales en sincronia (fase) con el estimulo visual a la misma frecuencia (8/12Hz) para potencial alfa y luego evaluar EEG, EDA, HR y test emociones.

Dear Christine, In general we are speaking about Visuo-acoustic stimulation. In our system we have acoustic and visual stimulus. In monoaural sounds are interpreted in coclear area, but in binaural sounds the area that process the sounds is the nucleus olivaris. We would like to proof that with this kind of stimulation can modulate EEG bands (alfa y beta), EDA (skin conductivity) and HR. Sorry by my poor English!.
Francisco I’m obviously interested in your work, but maintain that literally any sensory stimulation will be effective.
Very astonished by your assertive reflexion .we don t speak about magical but waves length can activate some specific areas and music is also like light and many others stimulation a way to regulate pathways via sensory activations .anyway receptors of many kinds can activate CNS and do retro control .
the therapeutic question is the process and sistematization,reproducibility .our limbic sistem is at the heart of crossroads even it is a magical perception .

with low frequency has been explored the level of pain ans drug consumption it was very relevant .

I should add that there is by now strong evidence that non-malignant chronic pain without sufficient explanatory pathology (which is the large majority of chronic pain presentations and includes most back pain, post-surgical or post-injury pain, fibromyalgia and phantom pain) is a result of conditioned behaviour of the nervous system, mediated via the amygdala region and involving descending pathways.
It’s often not just one conditioned response, but many, with associative learning in place around thoughts, feelings, perceptions, behaviours and environments.
Disruption of reconsolidation of each conditioned response results in extinction of the responses, and elimination of the pain. Disruption need not be bilateral, but sometimes the more complex the sensory disruption, the more effective. The primary requirement is that the sensory stimulation (which may be any sense including imagined ones) is at least as intense as the unwanted trigger to the pain.
If the sensory stimulation is weak in comparison to the trigger, or if key triggers aren’t identified, then there may be a temporary reduction of pain as best case scenario.
In the interests of serving the 1 billion people who currently suffer from this kind of pain, I’m very happy to discuss any of this.
