In my area of study, I had developed a bilingual survey to get feedback from my population. However, some of the population understood English but not too much. I proceeded to translate the survey to Bahasa Malaysia and had it pre-tested among a few translators and then pilot tested it using cronbach alpha. I then circulated the bilingual survey to my population and in there, I had also used bi-variate correlation analysis to indicate the level of significance in the correlations between theoretically important constructs. Is this appropriate or could you please suggest other methods of validation for a bilingual questionnaire wherein both languages are present ?
