Hi!

When debarking wood logs, the temperature of the infed logs vary dependent on season and local temperature.

I've heard that there generally exist a temperature of which the bark wood bond strength (BWBS) is at its lowest, making the debarking easier.

My challenge is that i've only heard it - this temperature figure. Searching for research covering this topic has not given any specific answers on this question.

So, do any of you either have a reference or a tip which may help me further in this search?

For simplicity we can assume softwood, i.e., Norway spruce and Scotts pine.

Andreas
