I'm trying to get sufficient RNA for qPCR from Arabidopsis pollen grains. I have somewhere between 0.25 and 0.5mg of pollen to get RNA from. Does anyone have experience with isolating RNA from such small amounts of plant tissue? if so, which kit/protocol would be best?

The best is The RNAqueous® Kit from Ambion. I used this for isolation of RNA from small roots of barley, but my colleagues used that kit for Arabidopsis embryos and even from small amount of embryos the kit works quite efficient.
