Unfortunatly true. In my opinion, it is more common for those who assigned to a top position very quickly. When they delay to give the appointments, they think that their importance has increased and their position has strengthened!
As the old saying goes: "An idle mind is the devil's workshop" . However, the real essence of the message was to make us stay busy in a meaningful way. However, in the flourishing age of technology, people try to accomplish more than the level their bodies is physically built. Because of this, time is being compressed more than ever before. The technology available to us has created an irresistible urge for us to use it. As such, being busy has become a status symbol in modern life leading to a social disease called hurry sickness.
Rusudan Labadze - It is good to be busy but there is need to maintain a balance between ones professional life and social activities.
The most drastic and worsening impact of being overwhelmingly busy is on the family and children are the worst suffers. When I and my Co- researcher were conducting research on 'Child -Parent Relationship' we find in one case that a Professor from a reputed university was very busy in his professional work. He revealed that he usually leave the home early in the morning when his children were asleep and came back late in night when the children were again asleep. He has not talked to his children months together despite being face to face with them. Now, you can imagine the case about its social implications for the family and children.
In my first reply; I focused on the person who does not give an appointment to their friends/colleagues for showing themselves busy. I agree with the previous replies, too.
Human beings bring upon themselves the perceived need to be busy. Putting too many things on the plate, not planning your time wisely, not prioritizing activities and unnecessarily complicating life (rather than simplifying it) can create a scenario of "business." For some people their self-esteem depends on the need to be busy. For others, they want to stay busy so that they don't have to think or feel and operate like a robot. Slow down and smell the roses. It is good for you. Sometimes on the world stage that one has created there is no audience to watch that person.
It may be a busy expression, an indirect guide to mismanagement of time, not a model for the realization of the mind and the filling of time with useful things,
For decades, we have seen people in the transportation reading, now their fingers are playing on the mobile with headsets and others, not evidence of their involvement in useful things. , To them or to their community
We are largely becoming technology friendly which is nowhere or somewhere connected to our attitude. Everybody argues that we are affected by the technology like mobile phone. In fact, our attitude get into the technology that makes us busy which we have to think about it.
When a person is constantly busy, his or her mental state is affected even outside the working hours, so that when life allows him to spend an hour or two of recreation, he will automatically feel that this time should also benefit him in a productive way.
