Because of what reason do (green) Chlorella algae turn brown when they get out of the fermentationtank?

The Chlorella algae is grown heterotrophically. When it is harvested it is put into a cooling tank, but here they turn brown in a week. What is the exact cause of this? and what may be a solution to prevent them from getting brown?
