Yes im looking for either code or a program which would allow for EEM's saved in the Jasco propriety jwb file format to be batch converted into comma seperated value (csv) or other universal file format.

Im running PARAFAC analysis on DOM components in natural water samples. drEEM in matlab and your eemR package in R unfortunately cannot handle jasco jwb files.

I can manually click and open each jwb file in jasco spectramanager one at a time then individually click and export them as csv files but i am looking for a way to either automate the file export step or a way of reading the jwb files (and converting to csv) without using SpectraManager.

You can send me the file I will check. But if it is a proprietary binary format there is nothing we can do. But lets see.

Thanks for taking interest in this. Yes it is a propriety binary format so this may all come to a dead end.

I've attached a jwb file. It is a 3D fluorescence scan produced on our Jasco FP-8500 spectrofluorometer. EX: 240-450 (5 nm steps), EM: 300 - 600 (2 nm steps).

Hi Philip, yes i had a look at the jwsprocessor bundle prior to posting my question. It appears to be just for single scan jws files and not support matrix type jwb files. Unfortunately after installing the python scripts and dependencies the jwsprocessor program did not want to run on my computer so i could not try to 'trick' it into reading a jwb file.

I have a few .jwb files that I am struggling to convert into universal formats. I only have access to an old version of SpectraManager (v1.54.03) and for some reason, the link you provided to File-Batch Converter doesn't open properly.

Unfortunately no i have not found a solution for the jwb files. I also was unable to open the 'file-batch-converter' link.

Here is the response i got from Jasco: "Unfortunately, 3D measurement does not support many file formats.[only jwb, txt and csv format]. Not only that, as you pointed out, there are many inconveniences for data handling. These functions are the same even for the latest version software. We will report your complaint to our factory and it will be useful for future software development. Thank you for your understanding."

I guess that you are having a problem similar to mine. The file format extension jwb is used by Jenway spectrophotometers, make a try by using the Jenway Software (http://www.jenway.com/adminimages/67_Series_Software_Suite_Setup.zip).

Unfortunately installing this software in Windows 10 or compatibility mode looks impossible by the regular installation procedures. Good luck

I encountered the same problem to convert JWB 3D fluorescence spectra to any other formate (excel, TXT, CSV, ...) which are already recorded by JASCO model FP 750. I installed Martín Blasco proposed software but we need a user name and password to continue.

To convert it to excel files I open jwb files with this software, then I use this options: File/Save/Export Data/Save Data as... and finally I choose .csv files

I do not know why your excel files are fully blank, sorry!

Run the program in WinXP on a virtualbox machine

Then open the .jws files and export them as .dx to open in another FT-IR software.

Also, you can export it to other formats such as ASCII if you plan to use Excel, Origin or Prism.

Can't believe JASCO did not answered that issue after 15 years + people are asking for it on the Internet. Or perhaps it was solved in more recent version of Spectra manager ? idk.
