I was at a broiler farm recently which had birds 3-day old broiler chick having leg problem. It was attirbuted to feed as DCP was added to the feed and the challenge reduce gradually, but could it be feed as the birds are still very young? I need clarification on this?
I consider it unlikely that at already 3 days of age a deficit in nutrition would cause this problem. I consider it more likely that something was wrong with nutrition or health of the parent stock.
You might try to find the parent stock and have that checked or other offspring from the same parents (and same age) to decide whether the problem is related to the parents or not.
This is due to insuficient reserve of calicium in the parent stock.
As far as I know, it can be related to incubation temperature/humidity. Maybe you can verify the parameters for the batch and compare to healthy batches, if the supplier keeps a log.
