Antibiotics do not cause abortions, in fact when used for a recognized indication, it often prevents problems of the embryo/foetus.
I must admit that tetracyclines can discolour de teeth of a baby, an unwanted aesthetic side-effect, while there are, in by far the most cases, effective alternative antibiotics available. There exist in otherwise healthy women sometimes Streptococcus B microorganisms in the vagina, which can affect the newborn and penicillin or erythromycin given before delivery can save the baby's life. And in the past, and still in some areas, quite some women had syphilis in pregnancy. Penicillin and a lot of other antibiotics prevented serious consequences to the child (e.g. congenital syphilis). I have seen that more than a few times.
