As underpinning theories for different pedagogical approaches are needed to foreseen & differentiate between learning outcomes of each application, certainly to understand Hybrid Pedagogy, there is need for key concepts to be defined.
Mixed pedagogy or blended pedagogy is the terms most alike, however hybrid pedagogy is in general regarded flexible and adaptable to the in situ processes and environments
Even though written in 1916 John Deweys «Democracy and Education» elaborates many pedagogical challenges by taking the pupil/student seriously and understanding the link between learning through action. Also I recommend the powerful books written by William Ayers. Booth pedagogical theorists and practitioners have a multi-faceted understanding of facilitating learning by recognizing the pupil/student.
“Pedagogy is not ideologically neutral.” This line has been for me almost a mantra over the last several years. I’ve said variations of it on Twitter, on the About Us page of Hybrid Pedagogy, on the site for the Hybrid Pedagogy Inc. non-profit, and in our recent CFP focused on Critical Digital Pedagogy.
While using Hybrid Pedagogy ,in Digital Age ,we should be clear in mind about different pedagogical approaches in teaching -learning processes.Social constructive approach versus behaviorist approach has proved its merits in term of constructive interactions , towards deep-learning, in digital learning environments.
