I think producing scientific writing in mother tongue is a very important issue. It's vital for language survival in long term and for the development of the prestige of the language. However, it has become almost compulsory to write in English in today's scientific world. I think this is a issue that has to be addressed.
Well, on my paper on visual metaphor, I admit I wrote it in Spanish to present at an annual meeting of the Latinamerican Neuropsychology Society in Montevideo, Uruguay back in the early '90's or late 80's. It was published in the joural of the society NEUROPSICOLOGIA LATINA, AS "La metáfora visual cognoscitiva y el copiador-explorador" or something like that. I can find it exactly if anyone would possibly be interested. I may have translated the thing into English, but I don't remember where it might be, or at least without some churning up of the sands of my memory.
