Today I lost my internet facility for a short time period, so I felt like a blind person and unable to manage my academic activities, hence my question is:
Are you as a researcher able to live without internet services?

Yes we can do research without internet but we can not share our research with others without Internet

No. It impossible. Even minor interruptions cause major problems. We are no longer printing and have lost all filing skills and hence depend on online journal issues

Hello,
The digital world has certainly affected the ins and outs of doing research tremendously. A very important part of research is to access relevant information from other scholars or the texts written by the specialists of the field. Notably, the internet paves the way for providing a very rich background information highlighting the major players of the field. Therefore, losing our access to the net will be catastrophic because our attempt to provide a comprehensive literature review would become very slow. It can be stated that a researcher would feel like a baby in the woods without the internet.

I think the Internet has become a fundamental part of the research and communication requirements for all researchers, it is indispensable.
Internet nowadays is a need that if you lost it you would become isolated from the world, so I think it is essential to the researcher

This is an excellent question. The internet is slowly becoming a collective consciousness, not only in the scientific community, but also for the entire humanity. It is even seen by some as a form of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and by others as the ultimate realization of the ideas of a medium connecting all thoughts proposed by Carl Jung. The question of being able to conduct the research activity without the internet services could be even reformulated in a more general way: Can we exist at all without the internet in our time?
The answer is not easy; in order to fully participate in the collective efforts and interact with others we definitely need the Internet. There are, however, some activities involving highly creative and individualistic work when the seclusion is beneficial; we can find some of the examples of such a situation even in the recent time, particularly in the field of mathematics.

Thank you dear Emad Kamil Hussein for asking this interesting question. I have been working for almost 10 years in an institution where you can´t access the Internet. Can you believe this? I cannot access the sites of most of the links you post here, so I am a researcher with lots of disadvantages due to access to the Internet.

I do not know what do you mean because nowadays everything is in the Internet. Because of that, I think that universities should focus now more on thinking skills because the information is in the Internet. Thinking skills help also researchers to be more selective.

Yes I can live without internet services. Of course you remember , at some years ago who we have been researching , reading , writing and working any thing without depending on the internet , because we have no enternet at that time. Recently the enternet breaks through our life and we feel that we cant complete our life without it.
