Is there anything besides Basu et al. 2002? There is quite a large literature of personal exposure to air pollutants and microenvironmental impacts (traffic). It has been difficult to find studies of personal exposure to heat or temperature and the impact of microenvironment, although it seems an important topic given the climate change, global warming and heat island effects.
I am no expert and by no means familiar with work by Basu et al. (2002). However, I do possess a fraction of knowledge (foundation) on industrial hygiene.
From what I have known (in my previous undergraduate years), heat stress was largely refer to environmental (surrounding) temperature using ACGIH heat stress index.
IMHO, it might be very difficult to measure personal exposure to heat source as our own body constantly radiates heat and could pass on to the heat dosimeter via convection.
Moreover, if the heat dosimeter was attached on clothes, depending on the type of fabric, it may gives a certain degree of deviation due to moisture (from our sweat).
These are just a thought - confounding elements to consider which I could think off. If there is anyone capable of overcoming these difficulties, I am also very open to discuss it. We could explore a whole new level of personal exposure assessment for heat.
Personal monitoring using high tech devices has been important for documenting research results but would probably be too costly and complex for everyday use, particularly because many different factors contribute to heat illness. You mention microenvironments. Acclimatization, hydration, and illness are a few of the factors that can rapidly change risk, making knowledge about risk factors, symptoms, and objective findings important. Such knowledge is important for exposed workers, their coworkers, supervisors, managers, and all who may be able to identify hazardous conditions and early health indicators necessary to prevent injuries and illnesses. Reporting systems and emergency response should be planned and in place in advance. A no-fault, no-retaliation policy is important to avoid under-reporting.

You should be able to find information in Spanish from the websites of PAHO Workers Health (OPS Salud de los Trabajadores), ILO (OIT), and the Spanish government's Instituto Nacional de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo.
One final thought: I don't really know much about this but maybe it's a possibility: If you are concerned real-time monitoring of changing microenvironments, you may want to look into the types of instruments used to monitor weather.
