Many amblyopic patients show better visual acuity in near point (exactly in 40 cm) compared to distance point (6 m). It seems that the patient is more amblyopic in distance compared to near. In the first, this may seem that the patient comes nearer and see the characters on the near chart in a distance less than the standard near point (40 cm) but this issue occur even in an exactly near point of 40 cm. In the second, it may be thought that the patient can accommodate better and with greater amount of amplitude of accommodation in near compared to distance but obviously the amblyopic patient not use accommodation normally and also in unilateral high myopic patients with amblyopia, this event may occur. The unilateral high myopic patients with amblyopia sometimes show better acuity in the standard near point of 40 cm even while wearing the minus full correction.
