As I hope to acquire MRI scans from online databases, I would just like to ask if there are any recommended MRI parameters that accurately capture the overall shape of these two structures. For example: would it be more ideal to gather T1-weighted or T2-weighted images, and what imaging plane (e.g. axial, sagittal, coronal) would be optimal for viewing these structures?
