It is known that Raman spectroscopy is a sensitive characterization method that has been widely used to study 2D materials. For graphene, the layer numbers, defects, strain, and substrate effects can be determined from its Raman spectrum with the references for that graphene (G- and G+, in Nat Mater 12(9): 792-797) and MoS2 (Nano Res 2013, 6(3): 200–207). However, I am having difficulties in finding the related reports on BN ultrathin (ie. monolayer) materials. Does anyone know more about this?
