You could try Nansat (https://github.com/nansencenter/nansat). Should at least get you a bit further than just reading the data. It works quite well for ASAR and Radarsat-2, and also Sentinel-1 should be ok.

Thanks for sharing the info, i have installed sentinel toolbox and have applied some tools provided , but many of them are showing java null point errors , i have communicated the same to sentinel team but i didnt get any response from them yet

Thank you Morten , I will install Nansat, meanwhile can you please share some knowledge on how ocean wave spectra can be retrieved from SAR images, since i have just started working on SAR i have gone through lot of articles on this particular topic but i could not get the fundamental principle behind it, It would be really helpful if you could put me in some direction towards the above problem

You ushould try the Interferometric Scientific Computing Environment (ISCE) developed at NASA - Jet Propulsion Laboratory .

It's C and Fortran wrapped in a python shell.

You can import all the required libraries in Python.
