I'm looking for a ML dataset that could be used to recommend treatment or targeted therapies for cancer patients, based on different factors such as the primary tumor location, age etc.
By fortune, cancer treatment does not work on as an automated database. The clinical judgement of a seasoned oncologist cannot be replaced by the protocol spitting computer.
Practice of Medicine is still an art. And I hope it will remain an art in spite of wise programmers.
@Joe Graymer , Sir by the way I'm more specifically looking for a dataset that would be useful to provide some basic drug recommendations.
For ex: I already have the primary tumor locations of some patients. Also I have patient data such as age, gender etc. Based on those data & other suitable factors (such as whether the patient is pregnant or not), I want to provide some basic recommendations on suitable therapies / treatment.
For example, I hope that radiation therapy would not ideal for a cancer patient who is pregnant. Also I hope that surgery may not be an ideal solution if the patient is too old. Thus, in such cases I want to suggest some alternative therapies that may be suitable for the patient.
So my intention is to consider those type of factors while considering the primary tumor location & to provide some basic treatment recommendations.
So if there's a dataset or data (even medium sized) suitable for this purpose, that would be a great help.
Your example of the old patient unsuitable for surgery is a clear example that oncology is not for programmers. Please leave it to the MDs and do not meddle in things you evidently do not master.
