Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenases are not one but several enzyme form different classes:
EC1.1.1.363 glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase [NAD(P)+]
EC1.1.1.388 glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (NAD+)
EC1.1.1.49 glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (NADP+)
EC1.1.98.2 glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (coenzyme-F420)
They all depend on specificity for the electron acceptor.
