I'm looking for a simple color change assay that's accurate and reliable, that doesn't use the filter-lift or colony-lift assay for the two-hybrid system. I know making plates composed of X-Gal can work, but they are typically less sensitive. I'm looking for a simple colormetric change that is accurate and reliable, even over weak signals.

I'm trying to avoid moving over to X-alpha-gal, as that doesn't work in Mav203 and all of my constructs are gateway related, and I'm trying to avoid re-making all of them. Even a different gateway compatible system would work.

Anyone know of any alternatives or am I stuck with X-Gal plates for the blue-white change? Anything more sensitive?
