Are there any antibodies that can be used to detect broad groups of bacteria in tissue sections or flow cytometry? Like, ANY bacterium (as opposed to animal cells), or gram+ / gram- bacteria, or a bacterial phylum?
Or alternatively: are there any antibodies for mammalian intestinal commensal bacteria, let's say at genus level?

I do not know what exactly the aim of this work, but if you just want to see a specific type of bacteria in an organ after infecting and dissecting an animal, you can just transform the bacterium with either GFP or RFP. But if your work needs to identify unknown bacteria from say, a clinical sample, then this will not work.
Thanks Debaki. I'm after naturally occurring bacteria in animal samples, so unfortunately I can't transform them.
