I am looking for a method to quantify the level of trust between people and between people and organisations. I am looking to organisations, seeking to develope a trusted relationship with the public and/or with their employees. Can someone point me to reserach in this context or to concrete cases, where it has been proven in other ways than by surveys, that certain organisational measures increased the trust in the organisation?

I have to estimate the strength and character of many kinds of relationships in human society when projecting future changes on the Internet. The Internet captures much of what is happening in society, and its change is intimately related to short and long term changes in human systems. Trust is too vague. More practical things are "likes", "investments", "donations", "support", "sustainability", "group size", "market value", "time spent".
And, each global community (I work with roughly 10 Million group size and larger) grows, fails, survives, changes society - according to an implicit measure of trust, resilience, strength, purpose, ability, resources, capabilities, connectedness - by many measures of groups. Documenting a group is the same as setting up a complete information system for any organization. Who is involved, what are their relations and mutual obligations, what are they trying to accomplish, what could they be doing, how efficient are they in saving human time?
If you ask too vague a question, you get too many answers and options to review. Trust with a group of 100 thousand requires one level of documentation and tools. Trust with a 100 Million, the same approach, but different tools, data and scale. I have to deal with all 7.8 Billion people every day. It took more than 20 years to get used to that. And I had worked 30 years before that on corporate, state, federal, national, international and global problems and group effectiveness.
If you have a group you want to know, say so. If you are simply looking for ways to improve sales and effectiveness of small groups or departments interacting with clients, patients, customers, students, employees, members, parishioners, collaborators, contractors, vendors, suppliers, leads, accounts - that is another problem. Same methods, different data and tools.
How do you trust employees, employers, partners, collaborators, investors, planners, designers, engineers, scientists, corporations, agencies? I have lists of tens of thousands of roles of people and groups in society. You observe their behavior, maybe impute some "trust" operating. But mostly people just make decisions with limited information, and make lots of mistakes. But, on a global scale, groups NEVER share their experiences in sufficiently useful form for them to reach anywhere near their potential. That is a factor of thousands or millions usually. But that is not "trust", rather commitment and openness.
