PMMA polymers, can be dissolved in all:

Tolune, Dichloromethane, Chloroform, and Acetone. You must use the casting techniques to prepare the samples, but the best solvent for PMMA should be either toluene or acetone.

Actually synthesized polymers difficult to achieve a suitable percentage of removal in water,,,,,so  my suggestion to try with another solvents..regards

Either water vapour or supercritical water may be used for pyrolytic recycling of poly(methyl methacrylate), i.e. PMMA. Also possible is to include a limited amount of water in mixed solvents that may be able to dissolve PMMA, and thus one may possibly consider (hot) aqueous solutions of methyl ethyl ketone ('MEK'), ethyl lactate, or formic acid, even if the addition of water can be generally expected to decrease the solvent aptitude to dissolve the polymer. Another approach might be the dispersion of PMMA nanoparticles ― or PMMA-based nanoparticles ― in water or aqueous solution, but it has been arguable (and far from generally accepted) to properly call 'solution' to the obtained colloidal dispersion. Please note also that use of the acronym PMM together with PMMA is not advisable, since both have been used to refer poly(methyl methacrylate). While using PMMA, the acronym for methyl methacrylate should be MMA, rather than MM. Instaed, when PMM is used, the acronym for methyl methacrylate should be MM. MMA has a limited solubility in water.
