Are TaqMan probes suitable to detect small deletions?

We have a 3 bp deletion in our gene of interest that we want to detect. Will it be possible if we design a TaqMan probe for it?

Hello Elsabet,

it should work. You can also detect SNP: http://de-de.invitrogen.com/site/de/de/home/Products-and-Services/Applications/PCR/real-time-pcr/real-time-pcr-assays/snp-genotyping-taqman-assays.html so it should work also for deletions.
