Yes normaly this works... It could be, that there are some differencenes in the total amount you get out of one prep, but in my experience you can change colums between different kits and also between different manufactors.
It works sometimes, but as there's >10 types of glass fiber filter available, the columns might have any of it. And using not fully compatible columns and solutions might result in lower yield. To reach the best results one should always use the columns with the provided solutions.
But sometimes the same columns go into different kits. In that case there's no difference.
Basically, check the columns' catalog number or description tag. If they match - you're good to go.
Yes. I've used filters from miniprep and pcr purification and have obtained comparable yields. I am reasonable sure the technology is the same. Perhaps at the extremes (very large or very small) there might be a differences, but from ~100 to 12000bp it works fine.
