Opinions are invited regarding are we doing enough for reprint or usage of tables / figures / questionnaires. I feel more and more people are using copyright material and just referencing from where taken is not enough. Permissions from journals / authors / editors is not being taken.

The need for permission to use tabels and other printed materials is somewhat dependent on the type of Journal these were publsished. If it quase in an Ope acess Journal several levels need to be talento into consideration. Today most Journals altos full use undécima the cindiriam that they are properly identified as the original source

my question remains.. Are editors n reviewers doing enough to keep a check such permissions are taken..
For eg.:
I see people using WHO universal survey forms so very often.. Have a serious doubt if permissions to use them was ever taken.
I believe that there are translated and available versions of the WHO questionnaires freely available in several languages. However, I believe that not all of them are properly validated, but that is another issue.
Editors assume that researchers fulfill their ethical obligations. Ethic committees are also responsible for making sure that all questionaires are being propoerly utilized.
I believe that it might not be practical to fully implement the kind of control you are suggesting. Please keep in mind that the vast majority of work done by editors and reviwers are for free.
One needs to believe that researchers are intellectually honest.

but We all are falling in trap of "Publish or Perish"
dont know how many of us actually are trying best not complicate or pollute science.
I agree most of the work of reviewers and editors is free but that doesn't solve my concern about misuse of scientific material / data
workshops for editors/ reviewers is required to teach the teachers & preach the preachers
