We obtained 2D dose map of Yttrium-90 and Lutetium-177 in water phantom (Attached figure). However, no difference was found between the two radionuclides in terms of the deposited dose. Do you think our results are reasonable?

color bar is the deposited dose in Gy. In the sense of the numerical value of the deposited dose these are the same, are not they?

I am not familiar with MC simulation of dose distributions, but maybe some general comments can help:
- I would rather compare diagrams (dose vs. distance) than colour plots, the former can show small differences much better.
- both isotopes are beta (-) emitters, but 90Y has a roughly 4 fold higher maximal energy. I would expect the dose distributions to reflect this (in the sub-cm range, defined by the path lengths of the electrons in water).
- 177Lu emits photons, and both will produce Bremsstrahlung, with different photon spectra. Difficult to predict for me, but in any case photons will determine the dose distribution at > 1 cm distance,
- the dose distributions of both isotopes might be dominated by the inverse square law. Maybe it can be helpful to search for differences in a 1 D simulation (e.g. a collimated beam) rather than in 3 D, in order to separate attenuation from divergence effects.

I think that you may need a normalization of the results. And most likely the normalization will depends on the source energy .
