Nowadays, environmental issues are of high importance in the design, production, sales and promotion/adventisement of products/services. Does the well informed customer have the adequate tools to confirm that products/services really comply with the accompanying description/information?

"Green" does not have a definition so it is difficult to say what is a green product or green service, or how green you need to be in order to claim that you are "green".
The issue you are raising here may be closer the problem of corporate transparency and which information is available to the customer so he can make a better, well-informed decision about which product/service to select. Two areas may be of help to answer your question: eco-labels for product/service and eco-indicators for corporate performance.
