If someone is using pristine graphene to detect some specific gas molecules in a controlled environment, then target molecules contaminate graphene layer. Can the same graphene be used to detect different gas molecules? I mean is it reusable or is there any way to clean it for reuse?

I feel once graphene is used for sensing gas molecules since it has its own adsorbability depending upon its no of activation sites which is influenced by its surface area to volume ratio, graphene may get deactivated on saturation and subsequently it has to be reactivated for reusing by heating it under controlled temperature provided it is permanently poisoned(irreversible or chemically adsorbed). As long as it is physically adsorbed it may be reactivated by either heating or washing.
