I was reading into granulocytes and it came to my attention that since they are essentially digestive granules they might be analogous to lysosomes. I was wondering whether this was the case but have struggled to find a clear answer in the literature
In particular, are granules acidic? I found some evidence that they have vATPase channels but it was unclear whether anyone had actually checked if they were acidic

The answer is no... unless someone else has better information. Granules are released. And once granules form, they stay inside the cell until they are released. Lysosomes fuse with other vesicles inside the cell, such as phagosomes to process the stuff inside. There are a lot of other proteins in granules, depending the on the type, like enzymes.

Massive granules in lymphocytes had an appearance and structure different from those found in other leukocytes. The giant granules seem to be a product of an active fusion between primary and secondary normal sized or enlarged lysosomes. This fusion occurs in polymorphonuclear neutrophils, eosinophils and in monocytes.
