Are Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 distinguishable when using SEM and EDX to study the cross section of a corrosion layer on a steel immersed in bicarbonate solution

Is it possible to distinguish between Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 and/or FeCO3 when analyzing the cross section of a corrosion layer formed on a steel corroded in bicarbonate or CO2 solutions?

Fe2O3 (both magnetite and hematite) is an insulator. Fe3O4 is the polaronic conductor. Thus Fe3O4 should be much brighter in the SEM image than Fe2O3.
