Hello,

I've found a number of siliceous stomatocysts of chrysophytes (and likely some vegetative stages of Synura glabra) in the North East Atlantic over the Porcupine Abyssal plain, in the same location as the PAP marine observatory. Pictures in SEM can be seen here : https://plankton.mio.osupytheas.fr/apero-chrysophytes/. there are many different morphotypes. I can not find any work describing them in the marine domain, only for freshwater studies. Does anyone know of published work documenting their presence in the marine domain ? Or should I assume that they were carried from land ? They are quite common over the entire water column (down to 4000 m). Thanks for any thoughts on this.
