Arable land is diminishing while population is incresing, is the vertical agriculture a good solution to increase the production of vegetables?

I think that such a solution for the production of vegetables could be of benefit in peri-urban areas What is your opinion or do you have other suggestions?

What I think is Dithiothreitol. As it is water-soluble and does not form a precipitate. But, the thing is it contains sulphur which is quite hazardous to aquatic animals.
