Hi

i have made some XRD analisys (5-40°) CuKa of biomass (mostly cellulose (glucose) and lignin).

I have heard that I have to collect the XRD patter of the holder and substract it. But I am not sure if this is OK.

First, what I am analyzing is a 2 mm thickness "compressed powder" so i hardly doubt that the XRD can penetrate as much. Second, even if it penetrates, I am unsure if i need to substract the whole background.

As i am not expert on XRD, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the right way to proceed.

Regards,
